The brief
A short explainer for a crypto product: show a user's funds being kept safe, unlocked and sent on their way, without a single line of on-screen text. The story came as a nine-panel storyboard, pink line sketches with a short note under each.
I made it as a test brief for a motion studio and kept it as a personal project.
The process
- 01StoryboardNine panels set the story: the funds, the watching eye, the key, the journey and the vault.
- 02LookA soft pastel world of glossy spheres and waves in pink, violet and peach, so a dry subject feels warm and safe.
- 03IllustrationEvery panel redrawn as a full-colour frame in Illustrator, with each element on its own layer for animation.
- 04AnimationBuilt in After Effects: camera moves, the eye blinking open, the key circling the core and the vault filling with coins.
- 05EditCut in Premiere Pro to a music track, with each beat timed to the storyboard.
From storyboard to screen
Each sketch on the left, and the same moment in the finished film on the right. The camera moves, the transitions between scenes and the timing came out of the sketches; the colour, light and depth were added on top.
The result
A finished 37-second explainer that tells the whole story through pictures and motion, so it works muted in a feed and in any language. The same process works for any product that needs a short visual story: you bring the storyboard or the idea, and I take it to a finished film.
Need a product explained in under a minute?
I take your storyboard or script, design every frame and animate it into a finished explainer with music. Send me the story you need told and where it will run.
