The brief
Short-form explainers eat time: every new reel used to mean a new After Effects project, hand-placed text and a fresh edit to the voiceover. I wanted a pipeline where a new reel starts from a script and a voiceover, and most of the build runs itself.
So I built Remotion Studio: motion graphics written as code in Remotion (React), with Claude Code and Codex doing most of the building. A reel is a set of reusable scenes driven by data, timed automatically to the voiceover, and rendered straight to MP4.
The reels
Two of the reels made with it, both posted. Every chart, counter, card and transition is code, so a new version is a re-render, not a re-edit.
How the pipeline works
- 01Script and voiceI write the script and record the voiceover, or generate one in ElevenLabs.
- 02Word timingWhisper finds the time of every word; a script corrects each one against the measured voice onset, so animation lands on the syllable.
- 03Build with agentsClaude Code and Codex assemble the reel from the kit: scenes, data, layout and motion, following the design tokens. I direct, review and correct.
- 04Kit and tokensA shared package of scene components (titles, glass cards, charts, cursors, collage pieces, camera moves) and a token file per look, so every reel stays on brand.
- 05SoundA tagged library of 48 sound effects with measured peak frames; a sound-design layer places them on the cuts automatically.
- 06Review and renderContact sheets and measurement scripts check every frame before I see it; the GPU renders the final MP4 for each platform.
What it looks like inside
Each look is a design system, not a template: the blue AI Advancements style and the warm ArtCraft style each have their own tokens and components, so the next reel in either look starts from finished parts.
The result
A content pipeline where one person ships a finished, designed reel from a script and a voiceover, with the repetitive work automated and the creative calls kept by hand. The same setup can produce a brand's explainers, product updates or data stories on a schedule, in the brand's own design system.
Need content on a schedule?
I set up a pipeline in your brand's design system, so explainers, product updates and data stories come out of a script and a voiceover instead of a fresh edit each time. Tell me what you publish and how often.
